The festival adopts an open and modern approach, with no themes or constraints, other than the quality and international nature of the line-up.
To provide a few figures, this year’s festival will present 59 drama, dance, music, opera and circus arts shows, including 12 creations and 7 co-productions, for a total of 173 performances, both in the theatres and outside of the festival site.
As is the case each year, big names share the line-up with up-and-coming artists, while drama sits alongside dance, circus arts and, of course, music of all kinds, including French chanson, pop, rock, jazz, classical and opera.
Outside of the festival site, circus is returning to Lacroix-Laval, while the Théâtre National Populaire (TNP), the Comédie Odéon, the Renaissance and the ENSSATT will be hosting several plays. This year, Les Nuits will also be collaborating with Villeurbanne, the 2022 French Capital of Culture, over the course of a weekend on Place Lazare Goujon.
