Since the invention of the pianoforte, composers have never ceased to associate it with song, combining text with music, solitude with abundance. Two young duos, prizewinners in international competitions, show that the Lied —those German poems set to music, where piano and voice communicate as one — and the French mélodie are in excellent health. Tamara Bounazou and Ema Nikolovska, accompanied by Anna Giorgi and Mikail Sikich, fully embrace these two genres dedicated to words and their musical interpretation.
