Parc de Gerland
Petite Prairie du Parc de Gerland Allée Pierre de Coubertin à Lyon - 69007 Lyon 7ème
This event devoted to Nordic walking and hiking is unique in France. Its routes take in Lyon’s most beautiful sites.
There are four routes, all beginning at Parc de Gerland, covering distances of 8, 13, 16 and 20 km. They offer a chance for all – from non-athletes to experienced walkers – to walk through Lyon’s most iconic sites, including the banks of the Rhône and Saône, Place Bellecour, the hills of Croix-Rousse and Fourvière, Vieux-Lyon (Old Lyon), and the Confluence district.
The routes are mainly along pedestrian paths, on stable ground and tarmac. They are sign-posted and safe, and there are also fun and welcoming places to stop for refreshments. Heritage guides can be found along the route to inform curious Nordic walkers!
Throughout the weekend, the Salon Marche Nordique & Bien-Être is held at Parc de Gerland. There are free activities for all, based on Nordic walking, and stands for equipment manufacturers, federations and health sport actors.
The event is also an opportunity to let your family and friends have a go, with free pole rental and introductory training sessions.
Both at the Salon Marche Nordique & Bien-Être and along the routes, there is a fun and friendly atmosphere: musical entertainment, regional produce, heritage guides and many other surprises await!
