“We are such stuff as dreams are made on...” These famous words set the tone for the 29th season of the orchestra Le Concert de l’Hostel Dieu, with the world of Shakespeare providing inspiration for a programme based on creativity, originality and solidarity.

Jubilatio:
Bach, Vivaldi, Pachelbel, Handel are on the programme of this delightful, colourful concert, filled with virtuosity. From the Brandenburg CThursday oncertos (No. 3 and 4) to concertante works composed by the great baroque masters, it will be a fantastic occasion to celebrate the Christmas season together!

L’Affaire Bach (The Bach Case):
Become a member of a nineteenth-century learned society, where you will be invited to listen to previews of Johann Sebastian Bach’s forgotten works. Share your impressions and contribute to expanding the catalogue of the master composer. This is ‘The Bach Case’, a participative, immersive and totally original concert. A mobile phone is required!

Il Paradiso perduto:
Discover a masterpiece! Here is a previously unpublished oratorio by Luigi da Mancia, kept at the Lyon Municipal Library. A colourful vision of the Garden of Eden, by a forgotten genius of the seventeenth century in Italy, with an international distribution.

Divino Sospiro:
Le Concert de l’Hostel Dieu welcomes the Portuguese ensemble Divino Sospiro. It offers a chance for audiences to discover the little-known, vibrant repertoire of the greatest Portuguese composers of the eighteenth century.

Chorale féminine et solidaire (Women’s solidarity choir):
This ephemeral choir brings together women from different backgrounds and cultures, around a varied repertoire, ranging from Thoinot Arbeau to traditional South African songs. This is a project with an inclusive and generous spirit. (For members only: join now!).

FugaCités: the trilogy.
Ending the season with a flourish, these three variations are based on a meeting between baroque music and three hip-hop art forms: beatbox, slam and dance. Make sure you don’t miss this fun and imaginative evening!
