Music and concerts in Lyon in April
In April, most electronic music fans will already have booked a weekend to go to the Reperkusound festival held at the DoubleMixte. In a different genre, on the 30th of April, jazz will be celebrated for International Jazz Day; initiated in 2011 by the legendary Herbie Hancock and UNESCO, to “highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe.” And the Lyon metropolitan area is no exception.

Show venues have a busy programme on offer in Lyon in spring! Among other things, you can discover the festival ‘Les Fabricants’ at the Théâtre de la Renaissance in Oullins, which includes a performance by art students from the Artist Diploma course at the CNSMD (National Conservatory of Music and Dance) of Lyon.
Cinema in Lyon in April
Even when the weather is fine, Lyon’s cinemas are a tempting proposition for film lovers. Several festivals are held, including ‘Les Mauvais Gones’, a 100% Lyonnais festival that offers a chance to see cult gangster movies, again or for the first time, and ‘Cinémas du Sud’, held at Institut Lumière, which explores cinema from North Africa and the Middle East.
Lastly, ‘Hallucinations Collectives’, organised by the association ZoneBis in collaboration with the cinema Comoedia, is a celebration of alternative films.
