Blitz, bazaar, gallery

Blitz stocks a selection of personal favourites picked out by the friendly owner, David Bolito. Tel un bazar de luxe, on y trouve de tout ou presque : de la déco, de la vaisselle, de la céramique, des bijoux, de la papeterie… You will find all kinds of things in this luxury bazaar, from decorative objects to crockery, ceramics, jewellery and stationery. Blitz also has a book section with both new and vintage publications. A former advertising executive and a DJ in his free time, David Bolito selects his products with great care, giving priority to products made in France. Always on the lookout for new things, he searches them out in various places, from the booths of the 'Maison & Objets' trade show to the backstreets of Naples and Porto.
Blitz also has an upstairs gallery, where exhibitions of local and national artists are held every two months, with memorable previews! “Crazy, sexy, cool” – to quote the words on the business card – is the new shopping mantra for the Presqu’île district.

Our bonus interior décor pick: Un Clou dans le mur

The name of this pretty interior décor shop in the Presqu’île district translates to ‘A nail in the wall’, and you’ll find plenty of delightful objects to hang up in your home! Slightly more traditional than the joyful bazaar that is Blitz, it sells cushions, jewellery and various objects, as well as a wide selection of more than 700 paintings, to decorate your walls and rooms with unique items. Since 2012, Denis has shared his passion for art history and will be delighted to guide you to find just the right gift.

Loulou

Loulou takes care of your eyes with a range of eyewear in its beautiful shop standing opposite the Théâtre des Célestins. Acclaimed by the outspoken actor and comedian Vincent Dedienne (“I love glasses; I have lots of pairs. Loulou is the best optician’s in the world: it loves small-scale artisanal spectacle-makers!” he told Madame Figaro in 2018), Michael offers not only beautiful frames, but valuable advice (and even a coffee, if you’re nice to him!) We think Louise Brooks would have loved this place! !

L’appartement 16

Welcome to number 16 Rue des Archers! Ring the intercom, push open the heavy door and make your way up to this beautiful upstairs apartment dedicated to the beauty of your hair (or beard). People move from room to room with an unconventional playlist in the background, in a fun, laid-back atmosphere, as if you just arrived at a friend’s for coffee. Vintage reigns supreme here, with a 1970s Tulip chair, Scandinavian chests of drawers, Twiggy head hat stands and ornate pictures on the walls. Since 2006, the team has delighted its diverse clientele with a super personalised welcome. L’appartement 16 is also a venue for artists’ exhibitions, with great previews!

Our bonus hairdressing pick: Pay ta Frange!

After years working at WK, the eccentric Carine Patsalis decided to go solo and create her own hairdressing salon. It is a quirky, joyful place that reflects her personality, nestled in the collaborative premises of Nooaré, a coffee shop and tattoo space. It offers a trendy haircut and a personalised welcome in a friendly atmosphere.

Carrie Bradshop

If you love vintage, make your way up Rue Romarin to the Aladdin's cave run by Yvo and Patrick-Pierre. Here, you will find glitter, designer labels, clothes and accessories in excellent condition, all at very reasonable prices. Recently, a men’s section has been created upstairs to add to the excellent, timeless selection put together by these two passionate individuals.

Our bonus ready-to-wear: Les Dessous d’Apollon

This is an address to remember in the Presqu’île district if you’re looking for stylish men’s underwear! Building on the success of his first shop in Paris, Yannick opened a 150 m² retail space dedicated to men’s underwear and swimwear in Lyon in 2008. Whether you want casual, chic or sexy, the varied range has you covered: from Calvin Klein to Hom, Emporio Armani and Addicted, budding Adonises and dapper gents will find something to suit them here.

Le Couloir

"Au Couloir, 2000 ans d’histoire!" (literally ‘At Le Couloir, 2000 years of history!’), told us DA, the friendly, smiling owner, who used to be based at Lyon’s flea market Les Puces du Canal. Le Couloir is a pretty little shop where antiques sit alongside second-hand objects from all periods, giving it the charm of a cabinet of curiosities. From a Gaulish bronze statue to an Art Deco lamp, an Egyptian cat or a Napoleon III frame, you will find a whole array of tempting objects at very reasonable prices. There’s also jewellery, crockery and glassware… How about taking a Memphis brooch to dinner this evening instead of the traditional bouquet?
