There's far more open on Sundays than just museum gift shops...
Shops in Vieux-Lyon, one of Lyon's main tourist attractions, are authorised to remain open every day of the week, all year round.
In addition, since 2016, changes in French law mean that shops are allowed to open on twelve Sundays per year, which are chosen by the municipal authority.
In 2023,
- The 15th of January 2023, for Winter sales.
- The 2nd of July 2023, for Summer sales.
- The 17th and 24th of September 2023 for the clearance sales of Croix-Rousse and Presqu'île districts.
- The 26th of November, the 3rd, 10th and 17th of December 2023 for the festive season.
