Shops in Vieux-Lyon, one of Lyon's main tourist attractions, are authorised to remain open every day of the week, all year round.
In addition, since 2016, changes in French law mean that shops are allowed to open on seven Sundays per year, which are chosen by the municipal authority.

In 2024, shops in Lyon are authorised to open on these Sundays:

The 14^th of January 2024, for Winter sales.
The 30^th of June 2024, for Summer sales.
The 15^th of September and 13^th of October 2024 for the clearance sales of Croix-Rousse and Presqu'île districts (Lyon Braderie Festival, a large street market running from 11^thto 13^th of October 2024).
The 1^st, 8^th, 15^th and 22^nd of December 2024 for the festive season.

This is a chance to get the most out of your weekend, as you can spread your shopping out over two days. This also means you will have more time to find your favourite locations and styles.
