Greater Lyon has 45 bridges and footbridges (24 on the Rhône, 21 on the Saône) and Lyon has 29 (16 and 13 respectively). They were destroyed on September 1, 1944 except for l'Ile Barbe bridge and the l'Homme de la Roche and St Vincent footbridges.

In 2014, two new bridges were built; Saône on the Schuman Masaryk bridge between the gateway and the Ile Barbe on the Rhone and the Raymond Barre tram bridge to connect to the Gerland Confluence.

- On the Rhone: bridge Raymond Poincaré (1989), Railway viaduct (1857), Winston Churchill bridge (1982), Marshal De Lattre de Tassigny bridge (1956), Morand bridge (1976), the College Bridge (1845), Lafayette Bridge (1890), Wilson Bridge (1918), bridge of the Guillotière (1954), the University Bridge (1899), Gallieni bridge (1965), Perrache Railway viaduct (1856), Pasteur Bridge (1950).
