Having a drink or eating out with a pushchair or noisy (but adorable) kids isn't always easy.
Here is a short list of places from our Collector locations that are easily accessible, and where you'll be made to feel welcome!
L’Envers des Pentes and le Trokson (Pentes de la Croix-Rousse)
In summer, the paving stones that serve as a terrace for both cafés is taken over by kids shouting, squabbling and kicking footballs while parents enjoy a drink. The sort of relaxed venues we absolutely love!
L’Instant (Croix-Rousse)
Some quality pastries and cakes, and a lovely terrace in Place Bertone in the Croix-Rousse area. Children can enjoy a feast prior to running about in the square, where cars are not allowed!
Maison Charrié (Guillotière)
A pretty bakery shop in Place Raspail, in the La Guillotière area. There's a lovely view and some delicious desserts too! And there's also the La Guillotière merry-go-round for tiny tots nearby!
MaMi (Guillotière)
A healthy and gourmet coffee shop that welcomes children. Even the table mats can be coloured in. Just perfect!
Le Kitchen Café (Guillotière)
This place is small, but its dishes are hugely tasty. It's a firm favourite among bistro lovers in Lyon, and their children are welcome too. Connie is always delighted to supply drawing materials and toys!
Le Bieristan (Villeurbanne)
This "biergarten" is the ideal place to enjoy a beer and a Flammekueche (tarte flambée) in its peaceful garden in Villeurbanne. Perfect on spring and summer evenings!
Our list is obviously a lot longer than this, but you have to start your family outing somewhere!
