If the history of the town is marked by a rich industrial past it has, for twenty years, made a change urban, economic and environmental. Oullins is a commercial center symbolized by the 200 banners of the Grande rue entirely refitted in 2012. The extension of metro line B to the Lyon Sud Hospital via a new station in the city center and the development of a new 40-hectare district will further increase its attractiveness.

Oullins has many cultural and sports facilities (the Memo, the Renaissance Theater, the Merlo stadium, the municipal swimming pool ...) and organizes major events such as the Festival of Iris, the Spring and Autumnal sale, the Zoullis, the Fête du 8 décembre... The banks of the Yzeron, the presence of more than 20 public green spaces including 4 large parks connected by the endless Garden, make Oullins a resolutely green city.
