Discovering the Pays Mornantais

From the Roman Empire to Romanesque art, and from medieval stalls to country farms, let yourself be captivated by these numerous architectural jewels: aqueducts, Romanesque chapels, washhouses, medieval villages and more. Make the most of a stopover to enjoy the simple pleasures of nature and use this opportunity to recharge your batteries through hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, fishing and gastronomy. Make a halt at Maison de Pays du Pilat: local products and art exhibitions await your visit.

A family day in the Pays Mornantais

9 am - Leave Lyon

As soon as you arrive in Mornant, make for the Tourist Office to buy a Famili Top adventure bag and get going! Set out on a discovery tour of the ancient village of Mornant thanks to the adventure of "The Stone of the Straying Wind" (La Pierre du Vent Perdu), an imaginary world in which children embody a character, and play a part in the story to take up a challenge and solve a mystery.

Once you've solved the mystery, you'll be off again, this time to Saint-André-la-Côte (15 mins) for a picnic at an altitude of 934 m. At the Signal, which is one of the highest points, we promise you an exceptional panoramic view over the Alps, Le Pilat and the Monts-du-Lyonnais region. On site you'll find everything you need for a comfortable lunch (tables, dry toilet) and a metal platform with a viewpoint indicator.

You can then head for the Greedy Bear Farm (La Ferme des Ours Gourmands) nearby. There's a whole host of activities for you to enjoy there: you'll get to taste products produced on site (including their organic berries), discover the farm and its smaller animals, or go on a fun hike with the donkeys. Then it will be time for you to head on home. All the better to come back another time!

6 pm - Back to Lyon
