Smør & Brød
Delicious Danish toasties!
How about trying some Danish food with Smør & Brød?
Everything is Scandinavian here, from the Nordic decorative scheme to the refined cuisine. The house speciality is smørrebrød (which is difficult to pronounce but sounds something like “smorra-burd” in English). So what is smørrebrød anyway? Well it’s toasted bread with toppings, but it's so much more than just that!
For Emmanuel, who created this establishment: “It’s a form of cuisine, a form of culture and even a form of art! As the traditional Danish lunch in the nineteenth century, smørrebrød is perfectly adapted to urban life, offering fast but top quality food! It’s no coincidence that it’s already spread to restaurants in the world’s biggest capital cities”.
So what kind of toppings will you find on smørrebrød? To mention two of our favourites, we recommend the Autumn-Winter 2017 special – “Butternut, chestnut, purslane and Morbier cheese” – or the delicious “Low-and-slow cooked trout, fresh goat’s cheese, honey, peas”. Delicious!
Rising with a smile on her face in the morning, always curious and enthusiastic to discover new places (and new dishes) in Lyon, Camille is what the specialists refer to as a « compulsive tester ». More partial to savoury than sweet (even though offering her a praluline – a delicious brioche filled with pralines – is a sure-fire way to get in her good books), Camille devotes herself body and soul to testing new food establishments in Lyon. Her radar for new addresses is legendary.
