Brasserie Georges
30 cours de Verdun Perrache - 69002 Lyon 2ème
Founded in 1836 by a brewer and emigrant from Alsace, Brasserie Georges ("La Georges" to locals) is still one of Lyon’s indispensable gastronomical destinations.
Formerly located on the stagecoach route from Marseille, the brasserie is now situated near Lyon-Perrache railway station, and continues to impress visitors with its awesome dining hall with seating for 700 people.
Its Art Deco interior will take you back to another time, on a discovery tour of Lyon's gastronomy or the brasserie's own speciality – sauerkraut. Did you know that Brasserie Georges holds the world record for the largest sauerkraut? Also worth tasting is its steak tartare, which will be prepared before your very eyes, and the Brasserie's own homebrew.
A timeless location anchored in tradition for a flawless gastronomic interlude!
Collector's original visuals and voice have made it a big hit in Lyon. It offers locals a different view of their city: more modern, more urban, and even a little offbeat. In just a few years, this guide has become the repertoire of “places to be”. It opens doors to somewhat secret worlds – just the way we like them in Lyon.
