In order to make the most of the Festival of Lights, plan ahead!

This year, the festival opening times are as follows: from 7 to 11 pm on Thursday the 6th and Sunday the 9th of December, and from 8 pm to midnight on Friday the 7th and Saturday the 8th of December.

Book your accommodation as early as you can! 
You'll find well-situated accommodation to help you get the most from your evenings

Remember to book a restaurant especially if you're a gourmet and want to dine at the time of your choice, and in your favourite restaurant! 

Dress up warm! 
It's cold in December in Lyon. And be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Pavillon ONLYLYON on Place Bellecour:
Extended opening hours during the 4 days of the festival of Lights: from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. 
non-stop. 
On the other days: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. non-stop. 
 

Information huts 
Opening hours:
From dec. 1 to 5: 12:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Dec. 6 and 9: 12.30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Dec. 7 and 8: 12.30 p.m. to midnight

  • Place de la République,
  • Place Edouard Commette (Vieux-Lyon)
  • Near Palais de Justice footbridge (opening hours: from Dec. 1 to 5: 9 a.m. - 1.30 p.m. / Dec. 6 and 9: 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 11 p.m. / Dec. 7 and 8: 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to midnight.

10 staff members will make their way around the perimeter of the festival on Segway personal transporters to inform and guide visitors. 

TCL public transport network 

On the 8th of December, public transport is free from 4 pm until the end of the service.

If you come by car, do not hesitate to let your car in a parc-and-ride and take the TCL public transportation.

Isabelle

Isabelle, our editor born and bred in Lyon! She was born in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon in fact, studied in Lyon and now lives here. Territorial? Absolutely not! She loves travelling, widening her horizons, meeting new people and enjoys a change of scenery (without snow, if possible).
