A la Marquise 37 rue Saint-Jean Maison du Chamarier - 69005 Lyon 5ème

Situated on the corner of the very lovely Maison du Chamarier (take a peek at the courtyard at 37 Rue St-Jean next to the store – you won't be disappointed!), À La Marquise's shop window never fails to catch the eye of passers-by.

Did you know that the store was named in honour of the French Marchioness of Sévigné (Marquise de Sévigné) who stopped here several times during the 17th century?

I don't know about you, but I just couldn't resist eating a praline tart. Here, sugared almonds are sold in every way possible, a tantalising experience for your taste buds! In tarts, brioches, or just like that. But maybe you'd prefer to try their almond-based Bugnes, Coussins or Cocons? All of Lyon's sweet delicacies can be admired here, and enjoyed onsite in the tea room.

Now isn’t that just great?

Eléonore

Eléonore is the romantic member of the team! Rumour has it that she knows her classics better than anyone else, and if you want to strike up a conversation with her, just mention Jane Austen, and you'll be away!
